USB Cable Test Module (UCT) Optional Module
Description
The MSolutions USB Cable Test Module enables integrators to thoroughly evaluate the performance and integrity of USB connectivity within their installations by qualifying the USB-C cables in use. The tester supports multiple measurements of internal wiring and provides detailed analysis of supported USB-C features, such as USB2.0, USB3.2 gen 1 support, charging capabilities, power delivery for monitors or laptops, audio transmission, DP alternate mode support and more.
The module has the capability of providing accurate test measurements for USB-C cables. It will test fully wired connectivity and all features supported by the cable.
The module has the capability to measure the power consumption of a USB device by connecting the module between the USB device and the Host – which will allow for the user to view the power draw by the device from the Host. When connected to an MS-106B tester, the UCT can also generate the full path of all the USB devices connected to the system. Utilizing the onboard USB3 ports of the tester to test a variety of device parameters:
– VID and PID of a device
– Peak power usage
– How many USB endpoints does it require
– USB standard
